About Loafi

Loafi opened on 1st August 2025. Rich Sharples and the Loafi team have more than 30 years experience running great kitchens across the Northwest. In 2025 they decided to ‘tap-out’ of restaurants and use that knowledge to build a bakery that focuses on the simple things we all know and love.
Custard tarts, Eccles cakes, Bakewell slices and more. Sandwiches on oven bottom muffins with house-made meats like corned beef and potted ham or, small production artisan cheeses with interesting chutneys and pickles.
We bake long fermented sourdough loaves using organic flours and on the counter you’ll find a sausage roll that we’re pretty proud of.
We bake in small batches early every morning, once it’s gone it’s gone.
Good to know before you visit.
What time do the custard tarts hit the counter?
We freshly bake our custard tarts at 8am and 12pm. When they're gone, they're gone. You can speak to a member of the team and pre-order so that you don't miss out.
What time are sandwiches made?
We have bacon sandwiches available between 8am and 9:30am each day. Our lunch time sandwiches hit the counter from 11am.
Do you sell gift vouchers?
We do not currently sell gift vouchers, but our team are more than happy to help with a pre-order or special request. Watch this space, vouchers will be available in the future.
Can I reserve a table?
We are a small micro bakery with limited seating. As such, we do not offer a table booking service. Seats do generally become available quite quickly, so pop in and have a chat with the team whilst you wait.
Do you have a menu?
We do not have a menu. All our bread, bakes and treats are stocked up on our counter for you to choose from — see what’s on the counter today.
Are you dog friendly?
Absolutely!
Do we offer gluten free products?
Although we do have some products made to recipes containing no gluten, we cannot guarantee them as gluten free.
Do you bake with peanuts?
Although we use other nuts in our bakery, we do not use peanuts for any of our products.
Do you cater for events?
We certainly do. Drop an email to hello@loafi.co.uk or speak to a member of the team for any special requests and we'll let you know if we're able to help. Giant custard tart as a wedding cake?
